Republican Debate Wrap-up

 Rudy Giuliani and John McCain

So Republican debate #3 is over.  In all honesty, I didn't watch this one since I am far too cheap to pay for cable.  However, other websites have a lot of articles up about the debate.  Most of these articles have a lot of words - which I didn't read - but, judging from the pictures, Rudy seems to have slapped McCain on the back for some reason.  "There, there, John, you'll always have the Straight Talk Express."  Seriously, though, it seems that since his enthusiastic embrace of the immigration amnesty bill, the wheels have started to come off the McCain Train.  This poll has him in fourth place.

I've got seven other reasons I didn't watch the debate:  Brownback, Tancredo, Tommy Thompson, Huckabee, Hunter, Gillmore, and Ron Paul.  None of these guys has a snowball's chance in hell of becoming president - so why are they allowed to swallow 7/10ths of the debate?  Get them off the stage, and give the big three (four, now, I guess) all the time.

Thompson ranks fourth in latest poll

Of course, Arthur Branch is the hot ticket in town now.  But he sure isn't a looker.  Plus, can we at least have a president, for the first time in 16 years, who is not a redneck?  Please.

OK, so I'm biased, but I think this guy really have what it takes.  But, noooo, can't pick the super intelligent, good-looking, multi-millionaire venture capitalist, never-divorced, never-cheated-on-his wife, Harvard Law-and-Harvard Business grad.  See, he's "flip flopped."  Yeah, he's actually changed his mind on abortion after tenuously researching the science, law, and ethics of the issue.  We wouldn't want that, now would we?  Romney has got to be the most cerebral candidate since Lincoln...but we'd rather have another redneck.
